Monroe County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)

Join the Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps.

The Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) provides dedicated health care professionals and citizens of the County the opportunity to volunteer their time and expertise. The MRC is housed within the Emergency Preparedness Division at the Monroe County Health Department (MCHD). Monroe County's MRC joins the other 800+ MRC units nationwide.

Purpose

The purpose of Monroe County's MRC unit is to provide assistance to local responders during public health emergencies. In emergency situations, it is paramount to have enough skilled medical personnel assisting in the protection of the entire community. For example, if vaccines or other prophylactic measures are needed, Monroe County's MRC unit will support existing systems for emergency response and expand MCHD's capacity to protect the public's health.
