Juvenile Cases Are Confidential

In January 2021, the Michigan legislature passed PA 362 known as the "clean slate" act. This legislation made all case types under the juvenile code confidential.

Automatic Juvenile Set Aside Information

On December 30, 2023, automatic juvenile set aside became law in Michigan.

What does this do?

MCL712.A.18t automatically sets aside all but certain ineligible offenses two (2) years  after termination of court jurisdiction OR when the juvenile turns 18 years of age, whichever comes later.  There is no limitation on the number of offenses that can be set aside.

If you want a copy of the nonpublic record of your set aside adjudication, contact the Michigan State Police at MSP-CRD-CSAautomatic@michigan.gov or by calling 517-241-0606.  Click here for more information.
