Employers / Return to Work / School

Knowing your rights as a breastfeeding employee and early communication with your employer are some of the key steps to planning a successful transition back to work. Under the law, employers must give breastfeeding women time to express milk at work and access to a private place that is not a bathroom.

Many health insurance plans may cover certain breastfeeding-related expenses including electric breast pumps and/or lactation consultant services. Coverage varies widely among different health insurance plans, so contact your health insurance provider for details.
