The Monroe County Health Department offers a variety of programs to support the health and well-being of pregnant women, parents, infants, and children.

Breastfeeding - Learn more about support available for breastfeeding parents, including local services offered

Children's Special Health Care Services - Program within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) assisting children with disabilities or chronic health programs

Helping Baby Grow - Program offering a free home visit from a registered nurse to any parent of a new baby in Monroe County

Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) - Medicaid home visiting program for pregnant women and infants, offering support from a registered nurse, licensed social worker, and registered dietitian 

MI Child / Healthy Kids Enrollment - Insurance enrollment assistance at the health department

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) - Program offering access to healthy food, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support for pregnant women, caregivers, and infants and children under age 5

Enrollment assistance is available for MI Child and Healthy Kids insurance programs.
