With the Courthouse reverting to Phase 1, the Monroe County Clerk’s Office will be assisting the public by appointment only for limited services.
Other emergency appointments will be considered on an individual basis.

Appointments are from 8:30 AM TO 4:30 PM. You can call 734-240-7020 to make an appointment.
Certified copies of birth certificates, death certificates or marriage certificates can be obtained by mail, through the drop box or online with Vitalchek. If you wish to use the drop box or mail, please include a copy of your driver’s license with your request.
The County Clerk is general recorder of various official County records, such as births, deaths, marriages, business and professional registration and Circuit Court records. The County Clerk is clerk to the Circuit Court, is secretary to nearly all official County Boards and Commissions, including Board of Commissioners, and is the administrative official of the County Election Commission.
The Register of Deeds office records official documents affecting ownership such as deeds, plats, mortgages,and land contracts. In addition, recording can be made of other official documents. Digital images are made of all documents recorded in addition to journal records. The Register of Deeds also serves as Chairman of Monroe County Plat Board.
Register of Deeds is located at 51 South Macomb St. Monroe, MI 48161. Register of Deeds Operation Hours for the Public are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 pm.
**To Order Voter Registration Lists: You will need to make a written request to the County Clerks Office detailing the type of information that you want on the list (current voters or lists from previous elections, etc). The list will be put on a cd and the cost will be $20.00 per disk.**
